You can't buy the cup, you can't buy the ccup, you rich bastards, you rich bastards, you can't buy the cup! Well done Newcastle for turning over Chelsea today! what a marvellous marvellous victory and even better, you made sure that two of their star players got injured so hopefully they'll be dumped out of the champions league this week as well! It just shows you, doesn't it? If you spend loads of money it's no guarantee of success, the great sides always put trust in their academy systems, like Manchester United who were home-grown and yet better than this bunch of bloody upstarts with about as much of a connection with chelsea as Robert the bruce. Well done to Notts forest who held my team, Spurs, to a one all draw today at Whitehart Lane too, they've got some splendid young players and we didn't deserve to beat them today, but especially well done to Newcastle for putting that bunch of overpaid foreigners out of the FA cup!

How cruel you are, LL, ahahha. Being glad peopel got injuries. May I ask, of what level of serverity were the injuries?

Severe enough to rule them out of the next two games, which could ruin chelsea's season! Hurrah! They're scum, just like Arsenal.

they are, and they're a tipicle example of money trying to buy success. sadly to date that has been paying off, but it's clubs like Chelsey who are ruining football. The top clubs in the premiership have totally ruined the game. it is so much about money for them now. who can buy the best players to win the game, who can dive the most in the pnealty area to get the most penalties. and yet the clubs in the lower leagues are constantly going into administration. I'm glad Chelsey are out. Now if they can just go out of the champions league this week as well things will start to look up some more.

Well lawlord,
I agree entirely with your sentiments about chelsea getting knocked out of the cup. Am I so glad you're not a United fan, you'd give us a bad name lol!

The Chelsea coach made a crucial mistake at half time, although it may have appeared a brave decission, it goes to show you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket i suppose.

As for the Champs league, they don't stand a cat in hells chance of getting passed barcelona in two legs, it's one thing to beat lower premiership sides week in week out, but a different kettle of fish against the top European sides.

I agree also with sugar about how money and cheating are getting to our game, but i'll have to defend Manchester United, in that our success has been built on our accademy and a strong core of our side is home grown, and it's not often you get players spending their whole careers at one club, like the Nevilles and Giggsy!

Anyway, Chelsea aren't done and dusted with the league title yet, i'm sure of that, it'll be very close before the season is out!

I respect ManUnited for having homegrown players, that's why actually I really admire them as I said above. And yeah, he put all his eggs in one basket, but what do you expect if you hire someone with no experience of the FA cup before? And as for the cheating sods, it's true that it's increased, but this could be put down to a very simple twofold truth: first, footballers in general believe they are a law unto themselves, although there are some notable exceptions, and secondly, jolly foreigner doesn't like it up 'im! It's pathetic! They go over like skittles! So all a side like sheffield United has to do is uee elbows and shoulders, and they can unsettle these self-christened stars and force them back to a replay where I hope they lose. Spurs for the cup eh?

well whilst I respect man u for having mostly home grown players, they are not exempt from their fair share of diving and cheating. And it is a common known fact that more penalties are awarded against opposition teams at old Trafford than at any other football ground, and what about the extended extra time ... nope sorry, Man u are far from perfect.

now everyone cheer for liverpool in the worthington cup final as well!

ah but that's the fault of the referees, Sugarbaby, and you have a propensity to assert that things are common known facts when they really aren't! At most it's a widely held perception, and we can probably say the same about the foreign pansies such as Arsenal and chelsea. But I'll certainly be cheering on Liverpool in the Carling Cup! Who was it who knocked them out of the fA cup again? Remind me someone. I think it was a lower league side.

it was burnley sadly.

Spurs for the cup! The fA cup that is! It's a grand old team to play for, it's a grand old team to see, and if, you think, it's hi-sto-ry it's enough to make your heart go wooooooooooo!

well all cheer for Liverpool in the champions league tonight. Sadly I don't think they'll do very well but .. we gotta be optimistic! doesn't help that Gerrard is suspended at the moment ..

Post 14 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 23-Feb-2005 12:55:32

well, Liverpool did the job yesterday, so go Barcelona today!! And arsenal lost, superb!

Post 15 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Thursday, 24-Feb-2005 14:47:58

And barcelona beat the Chelsea scum which is good news indeed, but they didn't beat them by as many as I'd have liked them to so as to give Chelsea no chance. Finish the job off Barcelona, and do us all a favour!
